From the VP:
Did you know that the leaves in the fall look yellow and orange due to the lack of sunlight and colder temps? These changes in our temperature and decreasing sunlight stop the process of photosynthesis. So, when the green begins to fade the other colors begin to shine through. Now get out and enjoy the beauty!
Fall is here which means so is the BT Epic. This is one of the busiest times of the year for me, but it's also one o...Read Full Post »

Fall is undoubtably the best time of year to be a mountain biker in the Ozarks. Leaves are changing, the temps are cooler, and the bugs are slowly disappearing. About the only downside we can think of is that the sun is setting earlier and available daylight is disappearing as well. Here's to jam-packing the weekends full of riding, and to getting those lights charged up for must have weeknight rides.
The Board of Directors would like to thank everyone that spent the summer hanging...Read Full Post »

Thorn-a-Thon will take place at Sac River on Sunday November, 6. This is is most important fundraiser for our chapter. Last year we raised over $3500.00! That was enough to cover our annual budget and cover sponsoring events such as Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day and Women's Weekend by Roots MTB.
The more funds we can raise, the more awesome things we can do in our community through trail building/enhancing and social events. On the plus...Read Full Post »

Hello Trail Fans!
The grass and invasive plants are taking over all the trails in our community! The Two Rivers Trail Manager, Rob, has deemed June- Trim Your Trail Month! As you all know, Rob spreads his trail love and efforts across both Sac River and Two Rivers! This guy is awesome! Give him a hand and bring your weed eater, mower and/or loppers out to the trail and donate a little time trimming up that corridor before your next ride. If we all do a little, ...Read Full Post »

Scott Davis with Springfield Bike Co. and myself host what we like to think of as the mountain bike race "for racers by racers"! Registration goes live July 1st at 6:30 a.m. central time. With the history and patterns of this race we expect record breaking sellout times, this is one you are going to want to jump on immediately. The race is on October 22, 2016. ...Read Full Post »

Judging by the the way things are going, Springfield will be known as the premier place for mountain biking in the TROPICS within the next few years. Seriously, there has been a lot of late season rain which has led to spotty trail conditions with a sparse chance of riding. Surely sunny days are ahead and soon enough we will all be wishing for a nice drizzle to help cool things down. The board has used the down time to brainstorm some new ideas for our website as well as our Facebook and I...Read Full Post »

Whoa! A quarter of the year is gone already! If the first four months are any indication, then 2016 is going to be the best year ever for MORC and Mountain Biking in the Missouri Ozarks. Lots of great things have happened already this year and the calendar is packed with more to come to a trail near you:
- The OMBA Caramba! race was a great success and a great way to celebrate the Sac River Trail's 20th Anniversary. Our President, Josh Even, is going to thank all of the great volun...Read Full Post »

Hello MORC Members! We are a little more than a week past the OMBA Caramba! and are still riding the buzz of a great event. We had around 130 racers come and enjoy the course set up at Sac River. We spent a lot of time as an organization focused on planning the event and were pleased to see it come off as a great success from both the planning and racing side. We were fortunate to have so many people pitch in and help the race come off without a hitch.
Taking a few minutes to tha...Read Full Post »

This strange but amazing weather has been making it pretty easy to enjoy working outside. It definitely didn't feel like winter during our Feb ROWDY. We had great weather and some great trail builders come out to help during the weekend. DreadKnot got some TLC and is looking pretty awesome. The Slick80 cabin is also going through a massive resurrection. It is starting to transform and is looking amazing. It was a great and pretty productive weekend. Thanks eve...Read Full Post »

From the Trail Coordinator:
Spring has Sprung.....almost! It's exciting though, isn't it? Warmer temperatures, more daylight, OMBA Caramba. Our beloved, long running, local race is going to be a perfect way to kick off the Sac River Trail system's 20 anniversary. In addition to this milestone, we plan to include the race in the inaugural season of the Ozark Mountain Point Series. The past and the future will converge at the 2016 OMBA Caramba and the M.O.R.C. Dirt Crew ...Read Full Post »
